Being Gordon Ramsay

We're huge Gordon Ramsay fans. We watch all his shows and have enjoyed eating at many of his restaurants around the globe. You'd think we'd know a bit about the man. But the six episode documentary BRING GORDON RAMSAY revealed a Gordon that we've never met over the last couple decades.
Hilarious, intense and gripping from the first moments, we dive into a one-on-one interview that peels back layers of his past, revealing deep seated history that has driven him to be one of the world's best known chefs.
But Ramsay doesn't want to be popular, he wants to be recognized for his food, which Michelin stars would certainly say he is.
A small camera crew followed Gordon around for a full year to capture these six episodes that document the biggest project of Ramsay's career. His quest is to open 5 different restaurant concepts on the top floors of 22 Bishopsgate, the sixty story, second tallest building in London.

Ramsay has sunk $25 million of his own money into the ambitious project and the stakes are beyond high. So are these restaurants. On the 60th floor, the views are jaw dropping, but so is the space. We see it as a blank canvas as Ramsay meets with his design teams and then observe the entire project coming together, all the way through opening night. It is NOT smooth sailing, but the final destination is stunning.
Featuring a massive new location of Ramsay's established Lucky Cat concept, the Asian food restaurant is stunning in scale and detail. Ramsay has also designed a huge patio area with a retractable roof that is no easy task to execute.
Gordon Ramsay High is a 12 seat tasting room with one sitting a night and a price tag that warrants a stunning, one-of-a-kind experience.
Bread Street Kitchen is the more casual offering on property, serving all day. It proves to be the most challenging to open on time.
Gordon Ramsay Academy is the highest cooking school in Europe.
We meet the Chefs for each restaurant, the Project Manager taking on this daunting one year build and many members of Ramsay's day-to-day team. The amount of globe hopping he does is a a hell of a lot of fun to watch, from Europe to the F1 race in Las Vegas to huge restaurant openings in the Philippines.

Behind all that action is the personal side of Ramsay, which is the polar opposite of the barking, demanding Chef we know from "Hell's Kitchen", "Masterchef" and "Kitchen Nightmares".
We watch as the Ramsay family plans for a wedding, grabs a rare day off as a family and see Gordon's daughter Tilly head off the Culinary School. Fans of Masterchef will remember Tilly's appearance as a young teen on the show.
The documentary also offers us glimpses of Gordon and his wife Tana at home with their young twins, carving out hilarious moments as a family in the midst of Gordon's wild global schedule.
Each episode brings us closer to the scheduled grand opening of 22 Bishopsgate, and all the delays, challenges and triumphs that entails. Gordon's team is amazing, from Chefs to Construction Foremen, he's surrounded himself with the best. Gordon Ramsay High has already earned a Michelin Star in its first year!

We really enjoyed the series, binging all 6 hours in one night, we couldn't stop!
Suffice to say, we'll be making reservations at either Lucky Cat or Bread Street Kitchen to see those amazing night time views when we're next in London, September 2027!
BEING GORDON RAMSAY gets a very entertaining AND enlightening A.
