An all star cast delivers plenty of magic in NOW YOU SEE ME, a clever thriller that keeps you guessing from the opening scene to the finale.
Jesse Eisenberg, playing a cool, attractive magician (for the first time in memory not playing a nerd on screen and pulling it off handsomely), Woody Harrelson as hypnotist McKinney, Isla Fisher as illusionist Henley Reeves and Dave Franco as a street magician are all brought together by a mysterious contact to turn their individual magic acts into one scene stealing (and bank robbing) Las Vegas act.
Mark Ruffalo and Melanie Laurent (Inglorious Basterds) are FBI and Interpol agents on the act's smoke and mirrors trail.
The entire story structure is smart and enjoyable to watch as our illusionists pull off some astounding feats that keep the police (and you!) guessing on how in the world they did it.
At one point, they send a member of the Vegas audience "live" during the show to a bank vault in Paris and we see him there one second after he vanishes from the stage.
How and what they pull off makes for a fun flick with plenty of laughs, suspense and several bank vaults full of style.
Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine round out the terrific cast in one of the most enjoyable movies of the summer.
NOW YOU SEE ME is magic indeed and its unpredictable twists and turns earn an A.
