Taken 2 is a non-stop action ride through some pretty convoluted story lines. Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson in full on action hero mode) is wrapping up a security job in Turkey and invites his ex-wife (Famke Janssen) and daughter (Maggie Grace) to join him. Of course this is exactly where the dads, uncles and loved ones of all the baddies that Neeson killed in TAKEN live and they are very anxious for revenge.
The story goes through some pretty head scratching twists and turns to get all the players in one place, but there's no doubt that once they're all there, the film ratchets up into a decent action entry. I found the entire scenario around having his daughter come to the rescue very suspect, almost like a horrible flashback to Kim Bauer in Season One of 24 without the bear traps. BUT, the action is fast, the stunts great, Neeson is very good and the last 40 minutes flies by so fast, you almost forget to apply logic. It's a quick 92 minute ride through some familiar territory. If you loved the first one, you're gonna love this one! Taken 2 takes a B-.
